Yeah I need to pay more attention to driving. Almost died this morning on the way to work thanks to not looking both ways.

Nevada DMV Woes

Today was a mess with the DMV, I went there nice and early on about 4hrs of sleep. Only to see a line of people already out front sitting in law chairs. At first I thought it might have been a protest or someting… But it was just people waiting for the DMV to open. After weeks of worrying about my smog test I passed, then I had a VIN inspection… which I passed (Last I knew my car was my car and was not stolen). Then after waiting about 20 minutes I was called to the desk. Everything was going smooth, until they checked my insurance. I have insurance but when I registered it online I guess I typed the VIN incorrectly, so all along my car has not been covered by insurance. They let that slide and gave me my plates. I had to make about a 10 minute call with progressive and everything was straightend out.
Now to get my stereo installed this weekend and my car wont be as bad to legally cruise around it.

So the other day I was getting some gas and a frappuccino before work and who did I see…Â Jay Leno.Â He was driving this crazy looking car.Â And I couldn’t help but make a comment on it.Â It was a chilly morning and as you can see the car has no roof or really a windshield on it.Â Anyways we made some short talk for a second and then after he came back out from paying for his gas he looked over at my car.Â I then made a comment about wanting to trade…. he declined saying that my car was too large for him.

So yeah since my car wont pass the SMOG tests out here I took it too the shop… it has to have the EGR Valve replaced, then it will pass the smog test. It’s well worth it though, as if I go to sell the car it HAS to be able to pass the smog test or who would buy it. Well there goes most of my next check on this repair…

I swear just when I thought my car was good again… So yeah here is the story, out in California you have to get a smog test on your car(since there is hella pollution out here). I was thinking yeah my car will do well since it got me all the way to Cali from Michigan… But then I remembered the “Service Engine Soon” light that has been on since I got the car. A lot of the times it is really nothing to worry about since its usually the oxygen sensor. But seeing that I need a smog test out here, the O2 Sensor is a major part. Also on a side note I heard if you DO have car issues do NOT go and get a smog test because your car gets put in the system and is pretty much flagged as being a “bad” car and well they wont let you pass point A until you fix ALL problems with your car. So anyways this guy I work with knows some people and some places to go to get it tested, we went there on lunch and the guy checked my car to see why the light is on, and well its something with an exhaust sensor = wont pass a smog test. He told me straight up that the car will NOT pass the test @ all while that light is on… So now I wait to see what I can do next. I guess the guy I work with has a mechanic in the family and the shop is down the street from my place, so hes supposed to let me know what the deal is. I just hope I don’t have to dump more money into my car. Also this is another thing that I think has happened to my car too.

Well I heard horror stories of like 5hr waits, gun fights and prostitution…. well maybe everything except the gun fights and prostitutes. Anyways I got there and filled out my Drivers Lic. form @ like 10:20am, and was out of there by 11:30am. And that was even after the written driving test that I took as well. Lets see when I go back for my plates and stuff how long it takes me …

I got bored and checked the distance from where I will be living and whats around me… I think that I will have to travel some.

Riverside -> San Diego = 100.8 mi (about 1 hour 41 mins)
Riverside -> Los Angeles = 60.2 mi (about 1 hour 3 mins)
Riverside -> Las Vegas = 237 mi (about 3 hours 51 mins)
Riverside -> San Francisco = 435 mi (about 7 hours 13 mins)
Riverside -> Bakersfield = 178 mi (about 3 hours 6 mins)

Granted these are all taken from google maps so I dont know if the times and such are all true.. but there ya have it.

So yet again I had some car issues, one of the hoses to the radiator had a crack and well broke …. $11′s later I had repaired the hose with help from my dad. So until next week the car should be ok.

I think I might have to do this to my car…. once I get it all up and running.

A lot of us are still probably using an old school tape deck and cassette adaptor to hook up our iPods to our car. However, with some modding, a few bucks, and a car of course, you can make a permanent auxilary jack for your car.

So yeah I think the devil owned my car and god doesn’t like that, so hes out to destroy me. check it out. Pic #1 and Pic #2 … And nothing was stolen either… Ohh yeah I think I fried my AMP when I removed it from the car with no tools.

I think its time to get a moped and strap the kids seat to it… Either that or a horse and buggy. So heres the story, I think all cars that I am destine to get have coolant issues. I dropped Peyton off at daycare and then my car over heated. To make a long story short i will ramble like I do.

Car over heated, bum thought he was a mechanic, got a tow to my mechanic, estimate of around $500 thats labor and parts, … Still waiting to hear back, but its prob the water pump.
