Novi woman is suing film distributor and theater for misleading trailer

So I came across a news article of a woman in Novi, Michigan that is actually suing a film distributor and a movie theater over the movie Drive. She is claiming that the trailer she saw made it seem like it was along the lines of the Fast and Furious type movies, but to her surprise it was nothing like the Fast and Furious type movies. Really unreal that the lady is up in arms about this and wasting the courts time with such a petty thing. Full news video can be found here.

Super 8

The other night Kat and I decided to watch Super 8. We kept seeing the previews and it left a lot to the imagination of what it was all about. Some really high hopes for the movie had been built up from the previews and what others were saying about it, sadly at the end of the movie we were both disappointed. I wish I really had more to say, the beginning of the movie had a pretty slow start. Midway though the movie it started to pick up and got you excited to see what was going to happen next. Then the end came, and well…. just kind of left you wondering what the hell the build up was all about. If you saw the movie what did you think?

The Adjustment Bureau

Last night Kat and I watched The Adjustment Bureau. I thought the movie was really good. The movie kept you guessing what turn of events were going to happen next. The basis for the movie is that everyones life has a predetermined plan that you are meant to follow. Every little action in life is part of the plan, while there is some free will and chance that can determine small aspects, over all what is written is how it will be. This movie played on that a lot, but also played on the fact that these predefined plans that we are meant to follow are not always what is right… Dunno you need to watch the movie to really get a good grasp on it.

Shrooms the Movie

So last night Kat and I wanted to watch a scary movie. She heard that Shrooms was good/scary, so we fired up NetFlix and put it on ….. the movie is umm well comical to say the least. I guess if it had a larger budget, better actors and a good script that didn’t at all resemble the script they used then it might have been a good movie.
Here is a brief summary of the movie

3 couples go to Ireland woods to collect magic mushrooms and trip out. On their way they meet some strange inhabitants of the woods and it doesn’t take long until a creepy story is being told at the campfire which might be more than just a story. So strange things happen, people start disappearing, silhouettes move through the woods and the creepy story starts to melt into reality. The horror kicks in along with the effect of the mushrooms.

Anyways umm yeah if you are bored and there is absolutely nothing else on TV, then you should still probably not waste your time watching this as it has no redeeming qualities what so ever.

Avatar The Movie

So I was sitting at home the other night and saw that Avatar was playing on TV. While it was not the 3D version that I had been holding out on watching I decided to give it a go anyways…. And really I guess I missed something, as it wasn’t THAT awesome of a movie. This might have been the fact that I was watching it on a 42in LCD and not a 40ft screen in 3D. Anyways anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Hot Tub Time Machine

So last night I went to the screening of the Hot Tub Time Machine at Rave here in Las Vegas. Never been to that theater before, but I will be heading there more often. As for the movie it was hilarious. Dont want to spoil it for anyone, but myself and the rest of the audiance was laughing out loud during almost the entire movie. Definatly going to grab a copy of this when it comes out.

Hellraiser Series

Over the last couple of days I have been watching the Hellraiser movies. For you that have not seen them, well I was going to say you are missing out… but that is hardly the case. The first Hellraiser movie is for sure a cult classic of sorts, but the others seem to fall short. I was reading IMDB and came across information about a remake of the original. Why must hollywood do this?? I mean just give it a rest. The year 2008 seems to be the year of remakes. Not only are they redoing this movie but once again redoing the Hulk movie too. Granted the Hulk movie should hold up a little better since it does have Edward Norton, but I am sure the CGI will make everything look horrible.

So I finally watched this movie, and I highly suggest it. It was a very entertaining movie that not only kept my attention but also had some pretty funny lines in it. Sorry for the lack of a better review, but I dont really feel like describing the whole thing. Either way go see it.

Catwoman

So I had the pleasure of watching The Movie Catwoman … I will never get that time back, what a horrible movie. The only redeeming quality of the movie was seeing Halle Berry prance around in town up leathers. Other than that it was up there on my list of most horrible movies of all time. I really dont know who came up with the idea of making this movie and filming it the way it was. God its awful, safe yourself some time and do not watch it … ever. As a conciliation prize I have included a picture of here that lets you see the high point of the movie.

It would be much better if I was not having to work all days surrounding and including it, but what can you do. I had a chance to watch Planet Terror today and I really liked it, I thought it was somewhat better that Death Proof but overall they were both good.Â While watching Planet Terror I was very surprised to see that Stacey Ferguson was actually attractive in the movie.Â
Usually I don’t think that she looks all that good, but as you can see by this screen grab she actually looks alright. I plan on getting in some more movie watching this weekend while working on some side projects that I have lined up.Â It was also brought to my attention that I cant have a WoW day anymore since Entensity.net already does so and I might add they do it much better than I will ever be able to do. So back to the drawing board for a Wednesday posting theme.

Today I met up with Sean and had some sushi and hit up The Prestige. I was looking forward to this movie, but it didn’t impress me the way I thought it would. I would still suggest heading out to see it as it is a great movie, but I think I am still just really impressed with The Departed. Last night I went and saw The Departed.Â I suggest that everyone go out and see it.Â The story line was awesome and really kept you wanting to see more.Â The actors and the director really pulled through on their parts and made it an awesome picture.Â I cant wait till the DVD is out as I will being buying it for sire.

Too many movies

I have been watching way too many movies over the last couple of days.Â Mostly for no reason except basic cable sucks really bad.Â Here is the line up of movies I have watched over the last couple of days.

American Werewolf in London – This is an awesome movie.Â Â Prob. one of the best human -> werewolf transformation scenes ever.Â And all with the lack of CGI like everyone likes to use these days.Â I heard the new version of this American Werewolf in Paris is alright, but I have not seen it myself.

Wedding Crashers – This is a pretty decent movie, they really dont over due it with humor like some movies attempt to.Â Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson make a great team in this movie.Â I hope to see them do some more movies in the future in this same genre.

Hostel – From the first time I saw the ad for this I was hoping that it would be everything that Saw should have been…. I heard some bad comments about this movie and how it was horrible.Â After watching it I can say this movie was great, it was a definate Gore movie.Â But not the horrible gore that you were used to in a B movie.Â I would suggest watching this movie if you like horror and suspence.

The Skeleton Key – I dont know what brought me to watch this… But it was a decent movie and I was glad that I watched it.Â Usually I figure out the plot about half way through on most movies, but this one it took me a little longer to figure out what was going to happen and then at the end I was thrown off.Â Anyways its a pretty good movie, not to slow either.

Lot of Nothing

1. Woke up early and watched some MTV
2. Surfed the net for a few hours
3. Renamed/Sorted my Firefox Bookmarks
4. Cleaned the condo
5. Watched The Lost Boys
6. Washed the dirty Laundry
7. Watched Butterfly Effect
8. Did the dishes.
9. Got the trash together
10. Installed some plugins on my blog
11. Installed VideoDB and added about half of my collection
12. Watched Swordfish
13. Sorted some boxes full of junk
14. Did some crunches/push-ups
15. Folded some laundry
16. Updated my gentoo box

Ohh yeah I ate somewhere in there too… over all it has been pretty productive.

I got around to watching this movie last night, 2hrs 30mins later it was over and I think it was a a good movie. I wont go into details as I dont want to spoil it for the people that haven’t seen it, but it is kind of a Sick Love story. Its good go and check it out.

Cidade de Deus

This subscription to Netflix is pretty nice as it leads me to watch movies that I dont think I would have checked out when at the store, such as Cidade de Deus (City of God) This movie was pretty damn good, and reading subtitles isn’t all that bad once you get going.Â I would suggest watching it if you get a chance, its pretty much about this group of kids and how they grew up to be Hoodlums and what led them on that path.
